Not every older Garmin network device reaches BlueNet through the same hardware path.

Gateway path

Many eligible legacy Garmin Marine Network devices remain on the legacy side and reach the BlueNet network through the single BlueNet 30 gateway.

Direct or special path

Garmin documents special cases that should connect differently. OnDeck GTB 10 is a clear example in the current source set: Garmin directs it to the BlueNet side using the appropriate adapter rather than through the gateway.

Why this matters before buying hardware

Knowing that a device is “compatible” is not enough to know which gateway, adapter or cable path it uses. The checker keeps the connection-path label with the device result.
