BlueNet changes the network path; it does not make every legacy Garmin device automatically reusable.
The useful question is not whether an older device has a familiar network connector. It is whether Garmin lists that device or family in the current BlueNet migration guidance.
BlueNet side
Current BlueNet chartplotters and compatible BlueNet devices use Garmin's newer network architecture and hardware references.
Legacy Garmin Marine Network side
Some legacy devices can remain through the BlueNet 30 gateway. Others have a special direct/adapter path, and devices absent from Garmin's current compatibility table remain a conservative not-listed case.
Use the exact family
Do not generalize from a similar GPSMAP, radar or sonar generation. The compatibility table and current model documentation are the source of truth for this checker.
