Garmin's current guidance says a mixed BlueNet and legacy Garmin Marine Network installation uses only one BlueNet 30 gateway. The gateway has two legacy Garmin Marine Network ports.

More than two legacy devices

The port count does not mean a boat with three eligible legacy devices needs a second gateway. Garmin documents keeping eligible legacy devices interconnected through supported legacy networking before the single gateway.

Why the checker summarizes the whole selected system

One device can look individually reusable while the combined selection creates a gateway/topology condition. The system summary exists to surface that distinction.
