Will a Garmin GSD 24, GSD 25 or GSD 26 work with a GPSMAP 9000?

Yes, through a BlueNet 30 gateway. Garmin lists all three legacy sonar modules—GSD 24, GSD 25 and GSD 26—as compatible with a BlueNet network through the gateway.

Practical answer: a move to a current BlueNet chartplotter does not automatically force replacement of a working GSD 24/25/26 just because the sonar module uses the older Garmin Marine Network connection.

Where it belongs in the mixed network

The GSD 24/25/26 remains on the legacy Garmin Marine Network side. Garmin’s BlueNet 30 connects that legacy network to the BlueNet side. If the boat has more than two legacy gateway devices, Garmin says the legacy devices must be interconnected through eligible chartplotter NETWORK ports or a GMS 10 switch before reaching the gateway.

Do not confuse the network answer with transducer compatibility

This result only answers whether Garmin documents the sonar module’s network path into a BlueNet system. It does not establish that a particular transducer can be reused, that every sonar feature will be identical on a newer chartplotter, or that no other hardware changes are needed.
